Update...

You will, I hope, be pleased to learn that the administrators in our school district have realized that, yes, they were on the verge of violating federal law with my student about whom I wrote last week. So she is back in class, and hopefully there will be no more problems. Poop heads. So there's something good that happened this week.

Oh thank GOD. I've been thinking about this... the poor kid.

Although... this is the college counselor in me saying this... tell her to hold onto that story for a college/scholarship essay. It would make a good intro for a number of different essay topics. :-/

Wonderful. As a bonus, this young lady will now feel safe and comfortable coming back to school, knowing that someone there is on her side--making it less likely that she'll turn to someplace she shouldn't. Glad you helped your "brilliant" administration see the light!

Then you kicked up a ruckus on the kid's behalf, right? Hurray!

Good for her. I wonder what the administration expected her to do about schooling though...

Yes, I am pretty pleased, but I really didn't do much except suggest the magic words.
