No matter how early I go to bed, I still have trouble staying asleep.
Let me guess: We are cows because we chew things over too much, people are always milking us for their own purposes, we blindly follow our leader in rutted paths way too much without considering where exactly they are leading us, and if we lie down, we may never get up.
Burn a sick day. Did you at least have a pillow for your nap on the living room floor?
I find having coffee morning, noon and night helps immensely, but just be forewarned, the crash afterwards isn't always pretty!
Of all the things a teacher might have to do, pulling cafeteria duty is by far the most mind-numbing and discouraging. If you do it right, well then, you are mean. If you don't do it right, you're not doing your job.
Consider yourself lucky if you only have it for a week. I'm stuck with it all year!
polski-- no, I collapse face down and got dimples all over my face from the carpet.
ms_teacher, unfortunately I really don't like coffee. I like tea, but it's too hot for tea. So I am drinking pop, which I will regret weight-wise later.
ms whatsit-- oh, no-- I have it all year long, too. And yes, I am already mean because I take away cell phones and make the alternative school kids put on their IDs (who, BTW, are not even supposed to BE at lunch, but TAS...).
Cafeteria duty! That HAS to be the most exhausting duty in education. Bus duty is close but still no match for the cafeteria.
